Tide Of Light Parade 2019

Worthing’s award winning Lantern Parade is back for 2019!

2019 THEME: OUR ENDANGERED ANIMALS

We are a walking, twinkling, line of lanterns, winding our way along our much beloved seafront. Come and join the parade in groups, as families or as individuals. There are so many ways to get involved

Every year we work in schools to make lanterns ahead of the parade. On the night we also host making workshops in the Pavilion Theatre so that children and adults can come and make their handheld lanterns.

We are working with community groups to make large illuminated lanterns in our project The Big Make

The Parade will be led by a crazy bonkers lead party with some very special giant lanterns and everyone is invited to take part in the parade.

THE PARADE WILL LEAVE THE PAVILION THEATRE AT 6:30PM

ASSEMBLY IS FROM 6:00PM TO THE WEST OF THE PAVILION TOWARDS THE LIDO

Everybody is welcome to join the parade, either as a spectator (best place to watch is on the prom) or as a walker. Why not join in the fun and make a lantern at home or in one of our workshops!

MAKE LANTERNS WITH US

We have 2 sessions on the 2nd November at the Pavilion Theatre at 3pm and 5pm, all materials are included to make lovely lanterns including the lights. Please register here to take part.

Did you know of the 26m tonnes of waste produced in the UK, 12m tonnes are recycled, and 14m tonnes are sent to landfill sites. This gives us an average recycling rate of 45%. We want to increase this!

Our workshops seek to educate children about recycling, so they can grow up in a healthy world. Have a look at our Instagram to see what we get up to! ♻️💚🌍
