During the year the team of community volunteers that organise and run Tide of Light work harder than ever, forging wonderful new relationships with community groups, youth groups and schools bringing a timetable of community arts workshops throughout the year focusing on recycling.
FESTIVAL POP UPS & COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
One our favourite jobs is making lovely things out of reclaimed waste. So what better way to be part of the action than be at some of our area’s best festivals? This year we will bring our pop up crafting action to:
PRIDE – 13 July
Rotary Carnival – 25 and 26 August
Green Dreams – 29 September
Pumpkin Picking Patch – in residence over October Half Term
Come and join us – we are always looking for volunteers
Kids council is our team of young people who are helping us to shape the event for this year and into the future. The Kids Council meets once a term for 2 hours in an evening, locally in Worthing. We usually do an educational or arts activity together and then start brainstorming ideas about the event which takes place in November. This group will also be helping to make a giant structure with the New Carnival Company for the parade in November. For more info see KIDS COUNCIL
This year we are working with 4 local Community organisations with some expert artists to build something amazing, together. Find out more about the BIG MAKE
