Tide of Light 2019

What you can expect

Working in the Community

During 2018, despite there not being a parade, the team of community volunteers that organise and run Tide of Light worked harder than ever, forging wonderful new relationships with community groups, youth groups and schools bringing a timetable of community arts workshops throughout the year focusing on recycling.  The Tide of Light team took part in many of the main events being held in Worthing during the year including the Rotary Carnival, the Green Dreams Festival, Worthing Pride and a wonderful residency at The Sompting Pumpkin Picking Patch!

The Tide of Light group will see many of you in our community throughout 2019 too, so do say hello.  We ALWAYS need volunteers and sponsors and we are hoping also to expand our community group to new members.  If you would like to take part and give your help and input we would love to see you.  Just email us for more information: info@tideoflight.co.uk

All of the hard work our team will be doing over the next few months will culminate in a huge celebratory Tide of Light event in 2019, and we can't wait!

NEW!  KIDS COUNCIL

It has become very important to us to engage the children of our community with The Tide of Light and with our very clear message of recycling, recycling, recycling we will embark on a tour of a number of local schools early in 2019 during which time we will help children make around 250 lanterns from recycled materials.

During our past tours of schools we have come to realise that kids have great ideas!  So our recently launched Kids Council will now form a significant part of our team, helping us with ideas, creativity and planning for the main event.

Have Your Say

Ultimately, this is your festival, and we want you to have the opportunity to shape it. Whether you've followed Tide of Light since the beginning, or only joined in the fun last year, we want to know if there's anything you'd like to see this year. Perhaps you've seen something spectacular done elsewhere and think it would bring some extra sparkle to Worthing's celebrations, or tweaks you think would make the event even easier to access, follow and enjoy.

We ALWAYS need volunteers and sponsors and we are hoping also to expand our community group to new members.  If you would like to take part and give your help and input we would love to see you at our next community group meeting.  Just email us for more information: info@tideoflight.co.uk
